How to prepare for a Book Sprint

Why do a Book Sprint?

A Book Sprint is a highly collaborative process of knowledge production with a non-negotiable deadline. Over 5 days onsite or 10 days virtual, 6-12 authors are guided by a Book Sprints facilitator to develop a shared vision, outline the content, write in groups, and edit each other’s work. The result is a book with a collective voice and shared authorship, rather than an edited volume written by individual authors.

A Book Sprint is a rewarding opportunity for peer exchange, learning, and high productivity. It is challenging at times, and it differs from a workshop or conference in that it demands 100% commitment and engagement to result in a tangible product. The writers are supported by a book production team to produce an edited, illustrated, and uniquely designed high-resolution PDF or EPUB to print and distribute online.
